Reading - New "Lit Circle" groups.  (WE have created the new "circles"!)

"Lit Circles" are small groups of students who will share the book he/she/they are reading. This may mean that all of them are reading the same book or each student could be reading his/her own choice.

The following is expected at EVERY SESSION: 1. His/Her book is with him/her

                                  2. A Reading Journal (regular notebook) is with her/him.

    * A journal contains two (2) or more pages of written notes about the book.

                                3. Proper Attitude and Behavior is a MUST!!

READING this chosen book will occur here at school AND at HOME! (Thank you Mom and Dad! Also - please look over his/her book choice or one that I have offered here and her/his READING JOURNAL... again, Thank You!!)

We are also reading a series of short stories from the Elements of Literature text book. With each story, we investigate and try to understand better - literature terms such as ; setting, conflict, plot, climax, characterization and resolution.

New term : Historical Fiction - "The Bracelet" A story about the Japanese Americans after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. This will be an in class assignment.
